large pores can appear due to oily skin, and unfortunately they have the ability to enlarge over the years. There are several treatments to combat them, but natural remedies, in addition to being cheaper than conventional treatments, are often much more effective! These natural treatments cleanse the skin and remove dilated and blocked pores, as well as blackheads and spots. We therefore advise you to use it often over time to keep your skin healthy!
Causes of large pores
The pores visible on the skin and most often present on the face are the outlet ducts of the internal glands, which produce sebum. The action of these glands varies according to sex, genetic factors and age, but also according to the use of a contraceptive method or estrogen in some people.
The main cause of large pores is oily skin! Indeed, pores normally fill with sebum and these open, because they are filled with impurities and dead cells. The size of the sebaceous glands then increases, which also increases the percentage of fat. This sebum brings a certain acidity to the skin and makes it possible to hydrate it. On the other hand, the dead cells and perspiration produced create an acid layer to prevent certain infections caused by bacteria, viruses and fungi.
But the problem is when the amount of sebum is too large and the pores dilate. The skin shines and becomes oily. Affected people also tend to develop acne, which forms because of the sebaceous glands. The size of the large pores depends on the area concerned and the concentration of sebum on the skin. In most cases, the nose and central areas of the face are the most affected.
Natural treatments against large pores
There are several natural remedies to get rid of large pores.
Sometimes all you need is a tablespoon of mayonnaise!
A single tablespoon of mayonnaise applied to the face is sufficient. Leave on for 20 minutes, and the vinegar and mayonnaise egg will help your pores close while firming the skin. But don’t use this remedy if you really have very oily skin!
An ancient remedy: whey
In addition to being an ancient remedy used to rinse the skin, whey helps reduce the size of large pores. All you have to do is clean your face every night, then rub a soft cotton pad soaked in whey on your skin. Leave on for 20 minutes, then rinse with cold water.
The mask with honey, lemon, apple and yoghurt
You need to mix a tablespoon of yoghurt with a grated apple, then add a tablespoon of honey and lemon. The mixture must be homogeneous to be applied to the face. Leave on for 15 to 20 minutes. This preparation softens the skin and is ideal to be applied before going to bed.
The almond mask
Crush 1/3 cup of almonds to obtain a powder. Then, add water very gradually to obtain a paste. Then apply it on the face, starting with the nose, then on the areas with large pores. Leave on for half an hour, then rinse with warm water. This treatment must be done at least twice a week.
Simply mix a little lemon juice with water, then apply this solution with a soft cotton pad, avoiding any contact with the eyes. Leave on for half an hour, then rinse with cold water.
The papaya remedy
You will first have to clean your face and then rub a piece of papaya without the skin. Leave on for 15 minutes, then rinse with warm water. This remedy is also used to blur freckles!
Cucumber, apple, milk and egg mask
Simply mix an egg white with a tablespoon of milk powder. Beat these two ingredients but be careful: do not make foam. Then add the grated apple and cucumber. Mix well until you obtain a homogeneous paste that you will apply on the face. Leave on for 15 minutes, then rinse with warm water.
The clay mask
This mask should be applied once a week, and you should prepare it one day before. In this way, the clay can better suck impurities and sebum from pores, while absorbing excess fat. This mask also reduces the size of large pores by purifying them.
You only need to add a few drops of lemon to your facial cream in another container. Mix well, then apply the preparation as if it were a mask. Leave on for 15 to 20 minutes, then rinse with warm water.
Other solutions exist!
Exfoliation: This technique helps a lot to remove large pores. The glycolic acid in exfoliants softens the upper layer of the epidermis. The pores can thus be purified and their size reduced.
If the skin is very sensitive or has acne, it is recommended to use exfoliating enzymes where we will find alpha hydroxy acids (AHA). Otherwise, the skin could be damaged and bacteria could attack it. You can also use exfoliants that contain retinol for better cell production that will clean the inside. But be careful: you cannot use this product if you are pregnant.
Moisturize and cleanse the epidermis: to finish large pores, you can use a skin cleanser that will not damage it. Avoid products that could dehydrate it, because the pores will then be more present and visible. Also avoid excessive sun exposure and do not smoke!
The face should be cleaned with mild soap. When using makeup, remove makeup every night before going to bed to clean pores. You can also use an oil-free moisturizer to cleanse your face every day.
Daily care: treatments for large pores must not contain alcohol. Use a cream under make-up: it should contain salicylic acid and mattifying agents to absorb sebum. You can thus obtain a softer skin and a better complexion!
Microdermabrasion: this technique is an extreme exfoliation of the skin for those who suffer continuously from large pores. In this way, the skin softens, large pores fade, and wrinkles and spots disappear. It is therefore a good option for those who have mature skin and suffer from large large pores.
Laser: Laser treatments should always be considered the ultimate solution, as they are very expensive. However, the effects of the laser last longer. This technique is used in medical spas and private clinics. It is a ray that is directed directly onto the skin and helps eliminate large pores and imperfections. You must then avoid exposure to the sun to avoid damaging the skin.
